01Who we are
Fast Track Academy is an intensive driving school based in Taunton, Somerset. We arrange courses and lessons for learners in Taunton, Bridgwater and the surrounding towns, working with a network of DVSA-approved driving instructors (ADIs).
You can reach the office on 07523 156487 or at info@fast-track-academy.co.uk. In these terms, "we", "us" and "the school" mean Fast Track Academy, and "you" means the learner booking the course.
02Booking your course and paying
Bookings are made online through this website. Every course is paid for in two parts: a deposit to secure your place, and the balance payable on or before your first session. The deposit is part of the course price — it isn't a separate fee.
- Prices are per learner, in pounds sterling, and are shown on each course page.
- Course fees cover tuition only unless the course page says otherwise. Test-day car hire is included on the Beginner Intensive only.
- Every learner must hold a valid UK provisional or full licence and give us their licence details before their first session.
- All new learners start with the 2-hour Driver Assessment, unless it's already included in the package booked (the 40-hour Beginner Intensive includes it).
- Paying the deposit means you accept these terms and confirms the course and price shown at the time you booked.
03How your hours are delivered
We agree your timetable with you and confirm it by email. Lessons are one-to-one with your instructor, and scheduling depends on instructor availability and your test date.
- Assessments and top-up lessons are usually two hours.
- Intensive courses are delivered in blocks of at least four hours of tuition, and the hour after a block is held for collection and drop-off.
- We run one intensive course per day, so a full intensive course is spread across the duration shown on its course page.
- Hours are tuition time in the car. They can't be split below the block minimum, and they don't roll over past your course window — if you can't use them in time, tell the office and we'll normally extend the window instead.
04Instructors and cars
Every instructor we work with is a DVSA-approved ADI teaching in their own dual-control vehicle — the school does not supply cars. Before a pupil is allocated, we check the instructor's ADI badge, enhanced DBS certificate and dual-control insurance are all in date.
If your instructor is unwell or away, we'll offer you another ADI or move the session. Your hours and your price don't change.
05Cancelling and moving lessons
- Please give at least 48 hours' notice to move or cancel a session. With 48 hours' notice you can rearrange at no cost.
- Less than 48 hours' notice, or not turning up, means the session is treated as taken and those hours are lost.
- Cancel your course more than 48 hours before your first session and we refund your deposit in full, less the price of any tuition already delivered.
- Cancel within 48 hours of your first session and the deposit isn't refundable, but we'll normally move it to a date within six months — just ask.
- If you booked online you also have a 14-day right to cancel from the day you paid. It doesn't apply once your course has started, or if you asked us to begin within those 14 days; in that case we keep the price of the hours delivered and refund the rest.
- If we have to cancel a session and can't offer a reasonable alternative, you're refunded in full for any hours not delivered.
06Turning up ready to drive
- Arrive at the agreed pick-up point on time with your provisional licence, and wear glasses or contact lenses if your licence requires them.
- Instructors won't drive with anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that affects their driving. The session is charged as taken.
- If you're late, the lesson still finishes at the arranged time — the lost minutes aren't added on at the end.
- Tell us as early as you can if you're unwell. With 48 hours' notice it's simply a reschedule.
07Your practical test
- Practical tests are booked with the DVSA by you, at gov.uk/book-driving-test. We'll tell you when you're test-ready and confirm your instructor's availability before you book.
- No driving school can guarantee a pass, and we don't. Test fees are paid by you to the DVSA and aren't part of your course price.
- Test-day car use is included on the Beginner Intensive. On other courses, using your instructor's car for the test — and any instructor time on the day — is charged separately at the rate agreed with your instructor.
- If the DVSA moves or cancels your test, tell us straight away so we can rearrange your sessions.
08Licence, health and legal changes
Tell the office immediately if your licence is revoked or suspended, if your entitlement to drive changes, if you're given penalty points, or if a medical condition affects your driving.
We have to stop lessons if you're not legally allowed to drive. If that happens, hours not delivered are refunded and the deposit is treated as set out in section 5.
09Our responsibility to you
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Our instructors hold professional indemnity cover and instructor insurance with dual controls.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law. Beyond that, we aren't responsible for indirect losses — including test fees, lost test slots or missed work — and you're responsible for any motoring offence or fixed penalty you incur while driving.
10If something goes wrong
Speak to your instructor first — most things get sorted on the spot. If that doesn't resolve it, ring the office on 07523 156487 and we'll look into it and come back to you within five working days. If you'd rather put it in writing, email info@fast-track-academy.co.uk.
11Your details
- To deliver your course we keep the details you give us at booking: your name, phone, email, licence number, preferred start date, notes and your payment record.
- We use them to arrange lessons, send you details of your course and keep the office diary straight. We don't sell your data or share it for marketing.
- Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
- You can delete your account and your details from the student portal, or ask the office to remove them once your course has finished.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one published on this page on the day you paid your deposit.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
